In accordance with the common terminology used in professional service organisations we use the word ‘partner’ to refer to a shareholder or director of the company or an employee or consultant who is a lawyer with equivalent standing and qualifications.
Any advice given by any individual member, employee, or consultant is the responsibility of Stone White Solicitors and not the individual.

Insurance Distribution Activity
We are not authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority. However, we are included on the register maintained by the Financial Conduct Authority so that we can carry on insurance distribution activity, which is broadly the advising on, selling and administration of insurance contracts. This part of our business, including arrangements for complaints or redress if something goes wrong, is regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority. We do not receive any commission or financial incentive for arranging contracts of insurance.
We do not provide any personal recommendations for contracts of insurance.
Anti-Money Laundering
Stone White Solicitors is committed to fulfilling its obligations under the Money Laundering Regulations 2017, the Proceeds of Crime Act 2002 and other relevant legislation for the purposes of preventing money laundering and terrorist financing.
We undertake detailed due diligence measures and ongoing monitoring for both new and existing clients. We also require clients to identify the source of all monies that will be paid to us.
In some circumstances we are under a legal duty to report information to the National Crime Agency where we know or suspect that a transaction involves money laundering or the financing of terrorists. If, while we are acting for you, it becomes necessary to make such a disclosure, we may not be able to inform you that a disclosure has been made or of the reasons for it because the law prohibits ‘tipping-off’. We accept no liability for any loss, damage, costs or otherwise you incur by reason of such disclosure.
Bribery Act
We comply with the Bribery Act 2010 and for this reason we monitor gifts and hospitality.
VAT
We are registered for VAT purposes with VAT Number GB 302953029
Professional Liability Insurance
In the interests of our clients, we maintain Professional Indemnity Insurance to a total level of £3million (three million pounds). Our insurers are currently Travelers Insurance Company Limited.
If other professional advisers are instructed on your matter, you must make sure they have a policy of insurance to cover their responsibilities to you. Our liability is limited to our responsibilities as agreed with you.
Complaints
We want to give you the best possible service. If at any point you become unhappy or concerned about the service we provide, and you would like to make a complaint, then please contact the fee earner responsible for your matter who will be happy discuss the matter with you. If you are still dissatisfied, then you may invoke the Firms complaints handling procedure, which you can read here.
If the matter is still not resolved, you may be entitled to ask the Legal Ombudsman of England and Wales to consider the complaint.
